FIRST Bus has issued an update after it said it had launched an investigation into social media posts "made by a number of staff".

Last week, the company, which operates in Bradford, confirmed it had launched an "urgent" investigation over the matter.

At the time, a spokesperson for First Bus said: "Discriminatory language and behaviour has no place in First Bus and we will not tolerate any form of racist content posted or shared on social media, including personal accounts."

First Bus has not confirmed exactly how many employees were being investigated.

The Telegraph & Argus this week asked the company for an update on the matter.

Today, the First Bus spokesperson said: "We are diligently working through each case and are committed to taking the appropriate action based on the findings of our internal investigations.

"Due to the confidential nature of employee matters, we are unable to provide specific details or confirm any individual outcome at this time.

"We remain focused on ensuring a fair and thorough process for all involved and are determined in our commitment to uphold the values of respect, inclusion and professionalism at First Bus North and West Yorkshire."
