A MAN has been banned from a supermarket chain and also begging or appearing homeless anywhere in Bradford.
Daniel McHale has been issued a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) by West Yorkshire Police that lasts for four years.
The order includes a number of requirements that, if McHale breaches, he could be arrested and may be fined or sent to prison.
It bans McHale from appearing homeless or giving the impression he is begging throughout the whole of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council area.
The order states he must not: “Sit or sleep in an area accessible to members of the public with any item or article which would give another person the impression that you are either homeless or begging.”
These items include a cup, hat, quilt, sleeping bag, and sign.
McHale is also banned from entering or attempting to enter any Asda supermarkets, pharmacies, and petrol stations across the Bradford district.
This includes the adjacent land and car parks.
If staff at other shops, or commercial properties, ask McHale to leave, including car parks and entrances owned by those premises, he must go and not remain.
Finally, McHale is prohibited from asking another person for money or goods, including alcohol and cigarettes, anywhere across the Bradford district.
This is unless it is part of a contract of employment or legitimate benefit claim, or a retail purchase or banking transaction.
The CBO will expire on September 9, 2028.
If you witness McHale breaking any of his terms before that date, you should contact West Yorkshire Police via 101.
