PEOPLE in Bradford are being invited to apply for a hit show where something unusual happens.
Married At First Sight (MAFS) UK made an explosive return to our screens last Monday for its ninth series and its experts are ready to play cupid again for a future series.
The show - which celebrates love in all forms, including successful LGBTQ+ marriages - matches two single people together, via the help of experts.
The two strangers then meet each other for the first time on their wedding day.
This bold social experiment further accelerates the process by sending the newlyweds off on a luxury honeymoon, before they move in together alongside other couples.
Each week the couples are put through challenges, carefully designed by the experts, and attend dinner parties with the other partnerships.
There is also a weekly Commitment Ceremony, where the couples can discuss their relationship with the experts.
At the end of the show, they must decide whether to commit beyond the experiment or go their separate ways.
MAFS UK has had mixed success since first airing in 2015.
Many have committed to the marriage, which is not legally binding, at final vows but most have then gone on to split following the show being aired.
One recent success story is Tasha and Paul from Series 8, who have continued to share photos of themselves on social media enjoying time together.
Tasha uploaded a photo on Instagram just a week ago of her at the MAFS Premiere 2024 and applauded the show, saying it “changed my life” and “I found my person, I have some amazing new best friends”.
A spokesperson for MAFS UK said four married couples have gone on to start families in the time the show has been running.
MAFS UK airs every weekday after the first episode and is watched by millions.
Last year’s series was the biggest on E4 and the second-most streamed show in the UK during its run in autumn 2023.
The MAFS UK spokesperson said: “Who will be next to find their happy ever after?”
