YEADON-based Jet2 has offered its condolences to the loved ones of a passenger who died after falling ill on a flight.
The plane - which was flying from Bourgas, Bulgaria, to Liverpool - was forced to make a diversion to Cologne, Germany, due to the passenger needing medical assistance.
Sadly, the passenger later died.
A spokesperson for Jet2 said today: "We can confirm that flight LS3214 from Bourgas to Liverpool John Lennon diverted to Cologne on September 16 due to a customer requiring medical assistance.
"Regrettably, we can confirm that the customer sadly passed away.
"We would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to the customer’s family and friends at this very difficult time."
