AN overnight collision between a lorry and pedestrian has shut a carriageway on the M62.
West Yorkshire Police reported that a collision between a lorry and pedestrian took place overnight on the M62 westbound between Junctions 29 (Lofthouse) and 30 (Rothwell).
National Highways reported that all lanes on the M62 westbound are closed between junctions 29 and 30 due to a police incident.
In a post X, formerly Twitter, National Highways: Yorkshire said: "The M62 in West Yorkshire remains closed westbound between Junction 30 Oulton and Junction 29 M1 due to an ongoing West Yorkshire Police led incident."
"There are delays of up to 30 minutes on the approach."
National Highways also noted that "the event is expected to clear between 12.45pm and 1pm".
A traffic alert by Inrix also reported "M62 westbound closed due to police incident from Junction 30 A642 (Rothwell) to Junction 29 M1 J42 (Lofthouse). Fully closed since around 4:20am."
