A BOMB squad was called to the scene after an old artillery shell was found in a garden at the property in Pudsey.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "At 2.17pm Wednesday, police received a report of what’s believed to be an old artillery shell in the garden at a property on Littlemoor Gardens, Pudsey."
Officers attended and liaised with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team who were also on scene.
A cordon was put in place while police carried out enquiries.
The item was later confirmed to be inert.
A police spokesperson added: "It was confirmed inert shortly after 5:15pm with the cordon subsequently being removed."
