A NUMBER of temporary road closures across Bradford are in force due to works on or near the highway.

These include Smith Street, Bradford, where construction works are being carried out. The work is being carried out in two phases and the street will be closed as follows:

*Phase 1 - from its junction with Listerhills Road to its junction with Longside Lane

*Phase 2 - from its junction with Longside Lane to its junction with Tumbling Hill Street

Alternative routes for traffic affected by the traffic order will be:

*Phase 1 - via Smith Street (the unaffected section), Longside Lane, Listerhills Road and vice versa.

*Phase 2 - via Smith Street (the unaffected section), Tumbling Street, Thornton Road, Listerhills Road and vice versa.

The order came into force at 8am on Monday September 16 and will remain in place until 6pm on May 4, 2025.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times while the work is being carried out.

Gas works to be carried out on or near Otley Road (Slip Road - Otley Road to Commercial Street), Shipley, has resulted in the temporary closure of Otley Road from to its junction with Commercial Street.

Alternative routes for traffic affected will be available via Otley Road (the unaffected section), Bradford Road, Bingley Road, Bradford Road, Bingley Road, Saltaire Road, Commercial Street and vice versa.

The order came into effect at 8am on September 2 and will remain in force until 6pm on Friday September 20.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Construction works being carried out on or near Thornton Road, Denholme, have necessitated the closure of Thornton Road from its junction with Halifax Road to its junction with Brighouse Road.

The order came into force at 8am on September 16 and will remain in force until 6pm on the Friday November 15.

Alternative routes for vehicles affected by the closure will be available via A629 Halifax Road, A629 Smithy Hill, right onto Brighouse Road and vice versa.

Alternative routes for HGVs will be via A644 Brighouse and Denholme Road, A644 Albert Road, Right onto A647 High Street, A647 West End, A647 Ford Hill, A647 Halifax Road, A647 Priestley Hill (into Calderdale) A647 Halifax Road, A647 Queensbury Road, A647 Boothtown Road, A647 Haley Hill Right onto A58 Burdock Way, Orange Street Roundabout, right onto A629 Ovenden Road, A629 Keighley Road and A629 Causeway Foot and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
