A new organisation aimed at reducing business crime across Yorkshire is to be unveiled.
The Yorkshire Business Crime Network (YBCN) will be officially announced at the Yorkshire Night Economy Summit on September 18.
The network is described as marking "a new era" in "collaboratively tackling" crime that impacts both day and evening trading across Bradford and the wider region.
It builds on work by Bradford at Night and other stakeholders to support businesses facing challenges such as antisocial behaviour, theft, and violence.
Sean Walker, with over 30 years of policing experience, has been brought in to lead the initiative.
He said: "It’s not about what one organisation is doing to help, we’re all here contributing to the wider cause.
"I want YBCN to demonstrate firsthand what strong collaboration can achieve with a common interest."
YBCN will use "the most advanced systems available," including a fully encrypted push-over cellular radio network, to ensure secure and instant communication among members.
Shop Safe Alert software will enable real-time collation and dissemination of incidents and intelligence.
Membership to YBCN is open to all Yorkshire-based businesses.
More information about membership can be obtained by emailing info@ybcn.co.uk.
