A CYCLIST died at the scene of a collision on a West Yorkshire road this morning.
It happened just after 6am in Ledsham, a village between Castleford and Micklefield.
A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police said: "At around 6.10am this morning police were called to a collision between a bicycle and white transit van on Great North Road, Ledsham.
"On arrival the cyclist an adult male had suffered life-threatening injuries, sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The driver of the transit van, a 29-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody at this time.
"The road remains closed and we would ask people to avoid the area at this time.
