TEMPERATURES are rising after a chilly few days and nights.

Weather experts said the cold Arctic air the UK has been experiencing over the last week is being replaced with warmer westerlies this weekend.

According to the Met Office, temperatures are predicted to reach 16C in Bradford tomorrow - but cloud and rain can be expected throughout the day as a result of a weather front.

But with a ridge of high pressure expected to be in charge, next week looks to be dry and warmer for many.

David Oliver, a deputy chief meteorologist at the Met Office, said: "In the wake of the front on Sunday, high pressure then builds, bringing fine and dry conditions to most parts of the UK for much of next week.

"If any rain develops it is expected to be confined to the extreme northwest of Scotland on Monday and Tuesday.

"There is a risk of some fog patches overnight and temperatures continue to increase, with many places a little above average by mid-week."

According to the latest Met Office forecast for Bradford, plenty of sunshine is expected on on Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures reaching 18C and 19C respectively.

On Wednesday, sunny intervals and highs of 18C are forecast.

It is looking more overcast on Thursday and Friday, with temperatures hitting 17C on both days.
