The Fairtrade Fortnight awareness initiative will take place from September 9 to 22, with a number of events occurring across the district for the occasion.
The event coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Fairtrade Mark in the UK.
Bradford District became a Fairtrade Zone in March 2006, with the title indicating that Bradford Council is committed to supporting Fairtrade and to helping shops to stock Fairtrade goods.
The district’s seven Fairtrade Villages and Towns organise events throughout the year to promote Fairtrade, collaborating with schools, places of worship, organisations, and businesses.
During Fairtrade Fortnight this year, a Fairtrade gifts and produce stall will appear at the Saltaire Festival, at Saltaire Methodist Church Art Exhibition on Titus Street, on the weekends of September 14 to 15 and September 21 to 22.
Other Fairtrade events will include, on Saturday, September 14, Big Brew at St James' Church in Baildon (10am to 12pm); on Friday, September 20, a second-hand fashion show at St John's Church in Ilkley (7.30pm); and on Sunday, September 22, Big Brew at Bradford Cathedral (11.45am to 1pm).
Also on Sunday, September 22, the Ilkley Fairtrade Group information stall will be present at Climate Action Ilkley’s Car Free Festival, from 11am to 4pm.
