Asda has launched a scheme to support primary schools.
The Cashpot for Schools initiative allows shoppers to donate 0.05 per cent of their shopping bill to a primary school of their choice, by scanning the Asda Rewards app at checkout.
Asda will also give each school £50 to start, and an extra £1 for every new sign-up to the scheme.
The scheme runs until November 30, 2024.
At the Rooley Lane store, there are also two donation trolleys for new and used children's books and unwanted school uniforms.
Lorraine Smith, community and customer champion, encourages people to support the projects.
