FOUR males - who were arrested after a police pursuit started near Bradford and ended in a collision with a bus and a car - have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

At 6.20pm last Thursday, officers indicated for the driver of a Volvo XC90 to stop on the exit slip road of the M62 at junction 26, for Chain Bar.

According to West Yorkshire Police, the driver failed to stop and a "short pursuit" took place.

A force spokesperson said: "The Volvo was in collision with a bus and car a couple of minutes later on Parkside, Cleckheaton, with the occupants of the vehicle leaving the scene.

"No injuries were reported by the other members of the public involved."

Four males, aged 16, 17, 18 and 22, were arrested nearby and taken to hospital to be checked over before being taken into custody.

All four were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop and theft of a motor vehicle.

The Telegraph & Argus understands the investigation has now been transferred from West Yorkshire Police to South Yorkshire Police.

A spokesperson from that force told the T&A today that all four arrested males had been bailed pending further enquiries.
