A BRADFORD man has been jailed for 15 months for actual bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.

Adrian Hudson, 29, of Holme Street, Bradford, was on licence for a previous assault conviction when he committed his most recent offences.

Bradford Crown Court heard that he headbutted and punched the victim on February 1 this year and then, two days later, punched a police sergeant whilst being held in cells on February 3.

Video of the assault on the officer was played in court.

His Honour Judge Jonathan Gibson said there was evidence of a “persistent” assault against the first man and described the incident with the police officer as “nasty” as he was “just trying to do his job”.

The sergeant was left with concussion that required hospital treatment and was off work for two weeks.

Hudson, who appeared via video link from HMP Leeds, was convicted at trial.

He was sentenced to a total of 15 months imprisonment, which the judge said was not appropriate to be suspended.

He was also made the subject of an indefinite restraining order preventing him from any contact with the victim.
