TWO litter louts from Bradford have been ordered to pay more than £700 for dropping cigarettes in a city centre.
Ana-Monica Caldarar, 30, and Maria Caldarar, 45, both of Keighley Road, near Lister Park were sentenced for throwing down, leaving, or otherwise depositing litter, at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on August 23.
Neither defendant appeared at court and they were both found guilty of that offence via Single Justice Procedure on the same day as sentencing.
The pair were in Union Lane, in Sheffield city centre on March 30 this year when they dropped or threw a cigarette each on the floor and left it there, according to court records.
It is illegal to litter under the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
They were ordered to pay £776 in total for their crimes - £388 each.
This total was made up of a £220 fine for each of the Caldarars, as well as an £88 surcharge each to fund victim services, and £80 in costs each.
