Save the Children is encouraging schools and youth groups to participate in a Shaun the Sheep-themed Christmas Jumper Day, on Thursday, December 12.

Interested parties can sign up for a fundraising pack online.

After buying a new Christmas jumper or, better yet, upcycling an existing one, the festive garment should be donned on the big day and a donation made to Save the Children.

Sew-on badges and pin badges are available from Save the Children's online shop for added customisation, with 100% of profits donated to the charity.

Donations can be made via a JustGiving page, which can be created when signing up; or via a pay-in form on Save the Children's website.

Donations may be made before or after Christmas Jumper Day as well as on the day.

Charlie Stein, head of Christmas Jumper Day at Save the Children, said: "With Shaun the Sheep as our Head of Wool for this year’s Christmas Jumper Day, we hope that more schools than ever will join the flock."

Rachael Peacock, senior brand manager at Aardman, said: "We have a legacy of working with Save the Children and feel very passionate about the charity’s work.

"Together we can create change that lasts lifetimes."
