West Yorkshire Police have issued a warning about car parking as children return to school this week.
With the new term starting this week, the Batley and Spen Neighbourhood Policing Team issued a warning about parking near schools.
A spokesperson for the Batley and Spen NPT said: "Now that the schools are returning there will undoubtedly be that increased traffic in all areas, but especially around schools.
"Please take care to drive safely.
"If you are dropping children off at school, it is imperative that the areas around that are marked with zig-zag or double yellow lines are kept free to prevent accidents occurring that may injure a child on their way to school."
PCSO Dyson said: “Even stopping for a second to drop off a child could lead to an accident.”
“The lines are there to keep everyone safe, so please park in a safe and legal manner, and just take that extra minute or so to keep everyone safe.”
