TWO people were taken to hospital after a two-car crash on a major road in Bradford last night.

The collision happened on Huddersfield Road, Wyke, at around 9pm.

Police, firefighters and paramedics were all in attendance.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Police were called Huddersfield Road, Wyke, at 9.05pm on Sunday to a report of a collision between two cars. 

"First aid was provided at the scene and a man from one of the cars was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries."

Firefighters from Odsal and Cleckheaton were called to the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Calls were received at 9.11pm to fire control about a road traffic collision involving two cars with one person trapped.

"Fire crews released the casualty and handed them over to Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS)."

A YAS spokesperson said: "We received an emergency call at 9.04am to a road traffic collision on Huddersfield Road in Bradford, involving two vehicles.

"Two ambulances attended the incident.

"One patient was conveyed to Bradford Royal Infirmary and another patient was conveyed to Calderdale Royal Hospital."
