A HUGE fire has broken out on moorlands, with crews still battling the blaze.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to an outdoor fire off Acre Lane, in Holmfirth at 10.50pm last night.
Firefighters from Cleckheaton, Halifax, Huddersfield, Rastrick, Dewsbury, and Slaithwaite rushed to the scene.
Two specialist wildfire units were also sent to the area.
They discovered moorlands on fire off the country lane.
An image shared by WYFRS showed smoke plumes billowing into the air in the distance.

A spokesperson for WYFRS said: "Ongoing incident on the moorland.
"WYFRS crews in attendance overnight.
"No need to be alarmed, but please avoid the area if possible."
The crews tackled the fire overnight and are still at the scene.
