Bradford residents are being asked to check their voter registration details to ensure they don't lose their say in upcoming decisions.
The annual canvass, organised by Bradford Council, aims to keep the electoral register updated, identifying any residents who are not registered to vote so that they can be encouraged to do so.
All households in the Bradford district should receive a letter asking them to check their details and explaining the process.
Lorraine O’Donnell, electoral registration and returning officer for the Bradford district, said: "The annual canvass is our way of making sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate and up to date.
"To make sure you don’t lose your say at upcoming elections, simply follow the instructions sent to you.
"If there’s a change to your household information or you’ve been asked to respond, we urge you to do this as soon as possible either online, by mail or by phone."
If you are not registered to vote and wish to do so, the easiest way is online via www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
