Cheese lovers at the Great Yorkshire Show have raised £50,000 in just over a decade.
The milestone was shared following this summer's show, at which the annual cheese auction raised £8,530 for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
RABI provides farmers with practical, financial, and emotional support.
Visitors at the Great Yorkshire Show are given the chance to bid for a truckle of their favourite cheese, after judging has taken place in the Cheese and Dairy section.
The proceeds from the auction are given to a nominated charity each year.
Sally Conner, RABI north east regional manager, said: "The donation that the Cheese and Dairy section at the Great Yorkshire Show has made will make a huge difference to families in Yorkshire.
"Earlier in the summer we launched our Return to School Grant which supports families getting ready for the new school year.
"This has proved to have a very positive impact and is a proactive way for RABI to support working farmers.
"A huge thanks to all concerned, we really appreciate the donation."
RABI's freephone helpline operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week on 0800 188 4444.
