A RALLY was held in Bradford city centre to celebrate unity and diversity.
The event featured music, spoken word, speakers, food, and more.
Speaking before the rally, organiser Rob Hoveman said: “Stand up to Racism Bradford has existed for a long time but we respond to events, so we held a rally of sympathy and support and solidarity with the people and the bereaved families of Southport," he said.
“We wanted to do something that would bring the community together to celebrate our diversity, our respect for each other, and to promote peace and love, other than racism and hatred.
"We have been leafleting in Forster Square and getting a good response, and around mosques and workplaces.”
He added: “We are not trying to confront anyone - there is no one to confront - we are trying to celebrate our unity and diversity and to have a kind of carnival or celebration of that, if you like."
