PLACES for nursing courses are still available through Clearing at the University of Bradford.
Nursing (Adult) and Nursing (Mental Health) courses are available, as well as MNurse Adult/Mental Health and MNurse Child/Mental Health courses.
These courses lead to a professional nursing qualification and eligibility to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Students enrolling benefit from grants towards their studying costs, with eligible students able to receive £5,000 per year which they do not need to pay back.
Mental health students receive £6,000 per year, while up to £2,000 per year is available for students who have children aged 15 and under.
Travel expenses to placements beyond Bradford are also covered.
The University of Bradford also promotes a range of initiatives to help with the cost of living, including discounts on public transport, with 33 per cent off rail travel.
Nursing student Ujala Aftab, 31, has completed placements at Bradford Royal Infirmary and Airedale General Hospital.
She said: "Nursing is a job that has so many different pathways you can choose, it is not just about working in a hospital."
Nursing applications are open until October 2 through Clearing.
Applications can be made online or by calling 0808 196 9129.
