TEN grassroots organisations are to benefit from a community grants fund promoting active lifestyles among children and their families.

The JU:MP (Join Us: Move Play) Community Grants Fund will support projects run by voluntary, community, faith, and enterprise sector organisations across the Bradford district, with a focus on neighbourhoods in Great Horton, Bradford Moor, Tong, and Keighley.

The successful organisations for the grants include Biasan Community, Unity Academy, Bierley Community Association, Horton Bank Top Community Foodbank, Ash Yorkshire CIC/Friends of Bowling Park, Kyffin Place Community Centre, Hainworth Wood Community Centre, Friends of Brackenhill Park, Sunnah Sports CIC, and Bracken Bank and District Community Association.

Sam Bacon, director of Active Bradford and JU:MP, said: "By collaborating with grassroots groups, we can tap into the energy, creativity, and local knowledge needed to create vibrant, sustainable opportunities for children to be active."

The JU:MP Programme is a pilot led by the Active Bradford partnership and funded by National Lottery through Sport England.

The programme is continuing to accept grant applications, which are available from £500 to £1500.

Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and projects must be delivered by December 31, 2024.
