A BINGLEY plumber has reached the semi-finals of a competition to crown the top tradesperson of the year.
25-year-old Jamie Cawthraw, who owns JC Plumbing & Property, is in the running for the Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024 award.
Mr Cawthraw entered the industry at the age of 16.
In 2022 he started his own business, which has already been recognised at a national business award.
With nearly a decade of experience under his belt, he is now competing against 26 other top tradespeople, from the UK and the Republic of Ireland, to be shortlisted as a finalist for Screwfix's award.
If successful, he will be one of ten finalists to participate in the in-person final at Screwfix LIVE, on September 27, where a panel of judges will test the finalists' mettle.
The winner will take home a trade bundle worth £20,000, including tools, tech, and training.
Mr Cawthraw said: "Reaching the national final in September would be such a great achievement.
"I hope my passion for plumbing shines through.
"I take immense pride in what I do and go the extra mile for each and every customer; I hope that it’s enough to secure me a place in the final."
