A CAT cafe will be held this weekend to raise funds for a rescue centre.
The Summer Cat Cafe, At Allerton Cat Rescue, will be held on Saturday, August 17, between 1pm and 4pm.
It's £10 per person and free for children under 16.
A spokesperson said: "Come along for tea, coffee and a cake.
"All donations will go towards our never-ending and increasing vet bills and towards new cages for our mums and kittens."
Demand for Allerton Cat Rescue's services is growing so it's now appealing for people to sponsor a cage.
Volunteer Cathy Hulin said: “This is a great opportunity for big-hearted businesses and individuals to sponsor a cage - and promote their brand or name in front of our growing army of supporters on social media.
"With over 25,000 followers on Facebook, and rising at pace, our site offers sponsors a great free advertising opportunity to connect with the local community.
"We can put a small sign on your cage and promote businesses regularly using their logo when we send updates to our followers on our Facebook pages.
“It also highlights their commitment to corporate social responsibility.”
The cages cost £1,000 each and Allerton Cat Rescue needs at least six of these, plus add-ons such as drawers underneath them, clipboards to fasten to the cages to identify the cats, dividing panels for the cages to split them into two, and all the plates that fit with the cages.
The total cost of all this much-needed equipment to keep the cats healthy and safe is estimated to be around £11,000.

Donations can also be made via Paypal - paypal.me/AllertonCatRescue258 - or via bank transfer to Cat Rescue (HSBC bank account) sort code: 40-46-58/account number: 11252615 with reference as New Cages.
