NETWORK Rail has revealed when it expects repair work on the lift at Bradford Forster Square railway station will be finished.

In April, the Telegraph & Argus reported that the Manor Row entrance leading to Forster Square's platforms had been shut due to "safety concerns".

Network Rail later confirmed this was due to "water leaks impacting the lift and Manor Row entrance doors".

Repairs to the roof have since taken place and the doors are now back in use - but Network Rail said earlier this month that "further detailed inspections have found the lift damage is much worse than we'd hoped".

With the lift still out of use, the T&A asked Network Rail when the work was expected to be completed.

A spokesperson for the organisation said: "We're working with the specialist contractor who hope to have the repairs complete in mid to late September.

"Step-free access to platforms is still available on the route past the railway arches."

The spokesperson previously said: "We're sorry to passengers at Bradford Forster Square station while our engineers work to repair the water-damaged lift.

"We're working as fast as we can to get the lift back up and running."
