MEMBERS of the T&A's Camera Club captured some stunning images of the Northern Lights overnight.

The Met Office first alerted people that the fascinating phenomenon - also known as the aurora borealis -  may be visible in parts of the UK at the weekend.

Then yesterday evening, the UK's national weather and climate service said northern areas could have an "enhanced chance" of seeing the Northern Lights due to a coronal mass ejection from the sun.

People as far south as Devon were able to see it, with a photo sent to the Met Office showing the natural spectacle from Dartmoor.

Plenty of those from the T&A's Camera Club managed to enjoy the Northern Lights, from a variety of different spots.

Here's a look at those pictures:

The Met Office also said people might be able to catch a glimpse of the Perseid meteor shower, which peaked last night.

Its post on X yesterday said: "The Perseid meteor shower peaks tonight and viewing conditions will generally be good, with clear skies for many of us and perhaps as many as 100 meteors every hour."

We'd love to see more of your photos of the Northern Lights last night, particularly if you managed to see them in Bradford.

You can send them across on Facebook through our inbox, or on email to: newsdesk@telegraphandargus.co.uk
