A SHOP in The Broadway shopping centre has closed its doors.
Ladies' clothes shop Select - described as the "go-to store for catwalk-to-high street looks and functional fashion items at amazingly affordable prices" - shut at the start of this month, the centre has confirmed.
It comes at a time for change at The Broadway.
Last month, the Burger King in the centre shut, and a drive-thru opened elsewhere in the city this week.
Customers were queuing to get into the branch at Eccleshill Retail Park on Harrogate Road on Monday - with the first 1,000 people getting a free burger.
However, there was good news when the opening date for the shopping centre's Primark was announced earlier this week.
The fashion brand will close its shop at the Kirkgate Centre at 5.30pm on September 9 and the new store will open at The Broadway at 10am the following day.
A live DJ will celebrate the opening of the shop, which will include adult clothing, kidswear, and home and lifestyle ranges.
The Broadway will be "announcing new fashion and beauty retailers in the coming weeks".
A spokesperson for the centre said: “We can confirm that Select closed its doors at the start of August.
"We will be announcing new fashion and beauty retailers in the coming weeks.”
