Share your tributes and memories hereI have known "Muppet" for many, many years as a champion for many causes. He was a modest man, engaging and a phenomenal philantropist and community activist. He always seemed to have time for everybody. When often we met at CNET or out in the community, he was always keen to invite and involve me in his latest community project. Although little known and not much talked about, he was also immensely proud of his Dominican (Caribbean) roots. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

He would look at an expanse of wild undergrowth , use his talents to find the most nutritious and tasty plants and flowers and make something delicious out them . He did that with people too ! Share your tributes and memories hereI met Muppett many times over 30+ years in Bradfords Folk Music pubs and further afield at Festivals, he was simply one of the nicest people Ive ever met. Wherever he turned up people were charmed by his lovely humour which he shared through his self penned songs, monologues and poetry. His kindness and humanity shone through and made many people happy just by his presence. He was one of Bradfords legends and will allways be remembered. RIP Michael.

I first met him at the Melborne sing-arounds and then many a folk gathering. And later when he was leading enjoyable walks around Keighley. He will be greatly missed. Share your tributes and memories hereMuppett gave so much to so many and we who were at The Castle on Friday nights have very fond memories . Often I'd drive Muppett to near his home on my way home and we'd see a fox and then look out for it each Friday. We had a couple of friendly meetings at The Cake'Ole in Keighley to chat about events . Muppett was one of our first guest singers at Bingley First Monday Folk held at Chip n Ern in Bingley it was titled 'Muppett and Mince Pies' My daughter and I went on two of the guided walks led by Muppett and they were excellent. Muppett was a very encouraging person giving positive and friendly advice . My thoughts with friends and family.

Share your tributes and memories hereSo sad to hear about Muppet, made me start to think how long have I known him, its seems like he's always been there active in the community sector. Getting involved in hands on ways, as well as strategically, and being in pubs with live performances. It's hard to believe he won't pop up in meetings or in local pubs again. But he'll be there in all the contributions he's made and communities he's helped develop. RIP Muppet and my thoughts are with his family, close friends and colleagues. He's irreplaceable.

A lovely man with a love for the Community and a kindness and generosity of spirit, an amazing character, and great and endlessly creative performer. He saw something in me and gave me a chance. He was my referee for a full time community job. We had many a beer & He loved to dance and sing. Muppet loved everyone & was generous with his time. After our Gold expedition in the Lakes it was clear the outdoors... then folk sing plus a few beers was the life for him. He became the most Yorkshire bloke I have the pleasure of knowing. (I believe the Duke of Edinburgh took an immediate liking to him when he collected his Gold Award.) Great character, youth worker and folk singer. RIP Muppet.

Muppett was a regular guest on my shows when with BCB radio & we have worked together in promoting grass roots music. More recently he was instrumental in helping set up a new not for profit station Daz In The Hat Radio. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time. Muppett you will be greatly missed.

He was also just a really great guy who I first encountered at folk nights in Addingham over 30 years ago and at so many other events and festivities since then. I worked with him for project 'Respect' initiated by West Yorkshire Police. He always brought a strong humour and started conversation with 'silly question' which actually would be most relevant while discussing Community Development . Sleep well, my friend and feel sad that we did not keep in touch past few months.

His invariable good humour and generous nature was an example to us all. To all of us in Friends of DalesBus he is truly irreplaceable but we are determined his work will live on. Sadly his DalesBus Ramblers Strollers Walk in his beloved Wensleydale, planned for August 25th using the 875 bus, will be cancelled out of respect.

I didn’t know him ‘personally’ but he travelled on my bus many times and we always had a little chat, and a laugh along the way. Always a delight to see him - one who made the job a pleasure. Share your tributes and memories hereWhen I first saw Muppett he was dressed as Boy George, miming to Culture Club at a Youth Hostels social evening. I later met him when he was a volunteer worker at Canterbury Avenue Youth Club. He spent his free time hiking and singing in pubs and folk nights. Professionaly he worked in youth and community projects, but most of us knew him as a very quirky singer and all round nice person. He will be missed.
