BRADFORD Police Museum is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a display of vintage police vehicles.
On Saturday, August 10 vehicles will be in Centenary Square, including a horse-drawn Victorian prison van (without horses).
The museum, which tells of policing, crime and punishment in Bradford since the 1800s, opened in 2014 and runs ghost tours, Trial by Jury trial re-enactment and city centre tours of historic crime locations. Museum visitors can see old police cells which have been in TV dramas including Peaky Blinders and Emmerdale.
The museum's exhibition, Diversity and Policing: A Shared History, explores the relationship between Bradford police and minority ethnic communities over the years.
Museum director Martin Baines said: “ We’re a small independent museum and a registered charity. Without our volunteers, the museum wouldn’t exist.
"We’d like to thanks the thousands of visitors during the last 10 years and we look forward to welcoming visitors to one of Bradford’s best loved museums. Come and see vehicles from our police vehicle fleet.”
