POLICE in Bradford continue to investigate following the discovery of a potential gun by "young kids playing".

A large police cordon was in place around a grassed area off Silk Street, near Lister Mills, for around 24 hours following the discovery on Tuesday afternoon.

One member of the public told the T&A that the community said "two young kids were playing" and found a "real gun" though this has not been confirmed by police.

One ward councillor called the incident "very alarming" and said it is "scary to find a potential firearm on our doorstep".

On Thursday morning, West Yorkshire Police told the Telegraph & Argus that enquiries remain ongoing.
