The Leeds Park and Ride service has led to over 5.6 million journeys since its launch a decade ago, according to new data.
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Leeds City Council revealed the figure as part of a celebration to mark ten years since the opening of Elland Road Park and Ride.
The success of the Elland Road facility led to the Combined Authority and Council establishing two more sites, at Temple Green and Stourton.
The 5.6 million figure represents the combined total across the three sites.
It is estimated that the service has saved 2.5 million cars from travelling into Leeds City Centre.
West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin, said: "Having fewer cars in the city centre and more people using sustainable modes of transport are crucial to helping us become a net zero carbon region by 2038."
Further celebrations are planned on August 12 at Stourton and August 19 at Temple Green, where free coffee will be available.
