A WOMAN who repeatedly allowed waste to accumulate in her garden has been fined and ordered to remove it.

Tara June Turner, 54, of Linden Avenue, failed to comply with orders to maintain the property despite "exhaustive measures", according to Bradford Council.

The authority said neighbours had complained about the waste since 2017 - and adding that the rubbish had "significantly impacted the local community's quality of life".

A Council spokesperson said: "Given the long history of non-compliance and the detrimental effects on the community, the matter was taken to Bradford Magistrates' Court, resulting in a successful prosecution.

"A fine totalling £1,834 was awarded and a court order issued requiring the removal of the waste within 21 days."

After the conviction, Councillor Sarah Ferriby, Bradford Council's executive member for healthy people and places, said: "Bradford Council remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring a clean and safe environment for all residents."
