A WELL-KNOWN airline has unwittingly played a part in the latest viral TikTok video from a controversial content creator who spent time in prison earlier this year.
Eyebrows were raised when Gavinio, who is from Bradford and has more than 600,000 followers, uploaded a video of him in the cockpit of a Jet2 plane alongside smiling pilots.
At one point, Gavinio mentions being "on the .2" before putting his hand up to his nose and sniffing.
The Telegraph & Argus understands that Jet2 is open to the idea of passengers looking in the cockpit as part its welcoming policy towards customers.
A Jet2 spokesperson said: "The pilots were completely unaware of who the customer was and what he was referring to in the video."
The video, published on July 28, is captioned "Jet2 on the .2" and had been viewed 1.2 million times, with 113.8k likes, and 5,579 shares at the time of writing.
Gavinio says in the footage: "Sat with the pilots on the Jet 2. You know how we do, on the .2. Lift it high, lift it low. Get back shadrack."
When he mentions ".2" he wipes his hand up his nose and sniffs, an action which features throughout most of his videos.
One of the pilots can be seen smiling and laughing during the clip, while the other who has a Jet 2 lanyard on turns around and nods his head.
They both then give peace signs when prompted by Gavinio.
The video attracted hundreds of comments.
One person said: "Who give him permission to enter the cockpit ."
Another added: "What a great advert for a family holiday with Jet2 sell your shares now lol ."
One of the comments read: "Imagine you get on your flight and you hear get back shadrack, on the .2 coming from the cockpit I'd get straight off."
A final individual said: "On the .2 in front of the pilots is crazzzy ."
Gavinio, whose catchphrases include "get back shadrack" and "it's all inside your mind" which matches his handle on TikTok has become popular for his energetic character and promoting a party lifestyle.
References throughout his videos include, "straight back on the packet, causing a racket", suggesting going to the toilets for a ".4" while watching England at the Euros, "get the bags in", "back on the power", and being "on the comedown".
While in a plane, from a video uploaded on January 26, Gavinio seemingly jokes about "going to meet Pablo for the real stuff Tony", while showcasing his infamous hand and sniff gesture.
Gavinio, whose real name is Gavin Proctor, disappeared from TikTok earlier this year.
It was because the 39-year-old, whose address was listed in court records as Shipley, had been sent to prison.
He was sentenced to 10 weeks behind bars on April 4 at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court after breaching a suspended sentence he received last year.
Proctor pleaded guilty to the offence on the same day.
The 39-year-old failed to turn up for an unpaid work appointment on November 26, 2023 and a planned office RAR (Rehabilitation Activity Requirement) appointment on December 12, 2023, according to court records.
This formed part of his punishment for being convicted of driving while disqualified, failing to provide a specimen of blood for analysis, and use of a motor vehicle without insurance on May 11 last year at Leeds Magistrates' Court.
All three offences relate to September 3, 2022 when Proctor was driving a black Ford Focus Hatchback on Manningham Lane.
He received a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Proctor was also disqualified from driving for a further three years, ordered to participate in an accredited programme for 33 days, complete up to 25 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement (RAR) days, and given 100 hours unpaid work.
Court records show this sentence was given because Proctor has a "previous record for driving whilst disqualified and drink drive offences."
The T&A has contacted Gavinio's management for comment but did not receive a response in time.
