West Yorkshire Combined Authority wants people to take part in a public consultation aimed at improving the region's electric vehicle infrastructure.
The authority, which covers Bradford and neighbouring districts, is working to increase the availability of electric vehicle chargepoints through its £17 million Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme.
West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin, is rallying for locals to suggest where these chargepoints should be placed, especially in areas where driveway charging is not feasible.
The efforts form part of the authority's agenda to motivate people to switch to electric vehicles to reduce pollution, improve air quality, and tackle climate change.
The consultation, which brings together the LEVI programme and the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strategy for West Yorkshire, will continue until September 12, with people able to feed back at drop-in sessions and webinars, by post, or online at https://www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/levi.
Mayor of West Yorkshire, Tracy Brabin, said: "I'm urging people to have their say so that we can create a greener, better-connected region that works for everyone."
To support the consultation, an ‘Explore Electric’ event will take place at John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield on September 10, from 9.30am to 2pm, where there will be opportunities to test-drive electric vehicles.
Tickets are available for 'Explore Electric' via Eventbrite.
