WEST Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) has issued an update on a large moorland blaze.
Firefighters - including crews from Bradford - were initially called to the fire off Wessenden Head Road, Meltham, shortly after 10am on Tuesday.
Plumes of smoke from the blaze could be seen from parts of Bradford.
The fire then flared up again yesterday morning.
At 2pm today, a spokesperson for WYFRS said: "Crews remain at the scene, but the fire front is now out.
"However, as over previous days, there are a significant number of hotspots over several kilometers.
"Crews will remain at the scene this afternoon."
They added: "We'd like to take this opportunity to thank our brilliant partners at the National Trust, RSPB and Yorkshire Water alongside gamekeepers and local land managers for all their extensive help at the scene.
"Without their hard work, further damage could have been caused.
"As a service we are grateful for their help."
Members of the public have been asked to avoid the area.
At this stage, it is not known what caused the fire.
A nearby resident, who asked not to be named, praised the efforts of those who have been helping to tackle the blaze.
