A MAN has died following a crash in Keighley

A Volkswagen Golf and a Yamaha motorbike collided on Skipton Road in Keighley just before 5pm last Friday.

The rider of the bike Terry Stevens, who was 69 and from Littleborough, Greater Manchester, was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury.

Mr Stevens sadly died in hospital in the early hours of Sunday.

The Golf was turning right out of Strawberry Street onto Skipton Road away from the town centre when it was involved in the collision, said West Yorkshire Police.

The motorbike was travelling along Skipton Road towards the town centre.

Police would like to speak to any witnesses - they are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a blue Nissan Qashqai who was on Skipton Road when the collision happened.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision on Skipton Road, Keighley.

"Officers were called at 16.52 on Friday 26 July to reports a Yamaha motorbike and VW Golf had been in collision.

"The VW Golf was turning right out of Strawberry Street onto Skipton Road away from the town centre when it was in collision with the motorbike who was travelling along Skipton Road towards the town centre.

"The rider of the motorbike Terry Stevens, aged 69 from Littleborough was taken to hospital with a serious leg injury, sadly he died in hospital in the early hours of Sunday 28 July.

"Officers from the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) would like to speak to any witnesses, they are particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a blue Nissan Qashqai who was on Skipton Road when the collision happened.
