FIREFIGHTERS from across West Yorkshire have tackled a large blaze in a derelict building.
Crews were called to the fire at Canal Mills, in the Armley area of Leeds, just after 5.15am on Sunday.
Firefighters from Bradford were among those at the scene dealing with the incident.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said earlier: "This is a derelict single-storey building - approximately 50m x 50m, 75 per cent involved in fire."
Residents in Armley and Leeds city centre were advised to keep their doors and windows closed due to the heavy smoke from the fire.
Members of the public were also urged to avoid the area.
