FIRE crews rushed to a blaze on a house roof which took hold of solar panels.
The fire happened at a property in Middlegate Court, in the Bierley area of Bradford at 5.38pm yesterday.
Firefighters from Odsal, Bradford, and Stanningley went to the scene, as well as an aerial appliance from Leeds.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) said 90 per cent of the roof was involved, including solar panels and lithium batteries.
The crews used two hose reels and two breathing apparatus.
Meanwhile, there was also a fire at a 20-metre by 10-metre building in Wakefield Road, in Tingley, Wakefield last night.
WYFRS was called there at 8.45pm and discovered the second floor and roof of the property was involved.
Two crews from Hunslet Fire Station, and firefighters from Morley went to the scene.
There was also an aerial unit from Wakefield and support from Rothwell.
Six breathing apparatus were used and three hose reels to tackle the blaze.
