A ‘COPS & Cars’ event will be held to raise funds for two worthy causes.

The event, organised by 1965 PTSD Awareness, is back for a third year and promises to be “bigger and better”.

The organisation was set up by Ben Pearson, a former Bradford traffic cop for nearly 20 years and who was a regular on Channel 5 show Police Interceptors, and his close friend Dan Stanek.

Father-of-two Ben retired from West Yorkshire Police when the trauma of witnessing fatalities in his job and bereavement in his personal life took over.

He was diagnosed with complex post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Ben is now a successful author, motivational speaker, and YouTuber, sharing his life and work experiences, the ups and downs of policing, living with PTSD, and coping with the stigma attached to mental illness.

The event will bring together “an incredible collection of emergency services and military vehicles, plus cars of all descriptions to raise funds for our chosen charities Andy’s Man Club and PTDS999”.

Ben said: “We’ll be hosting an array of familiar faces from your favourite Monday evening Channel 5 Police shows including Police Interceptors, Traffic Cops, Motorway Cops plus Sky 1 legends Pat and Carl from Road Wars.

“Special guests from the automotive YouTube world including Benedict Fowler (Road to Success podcast) and Abigayle André (She Talks Cars) and more will be joining us on the day.”

There’ll be an opportunity to get involved with various Q&A sessions throughout the day.

A £5 per person stamp - available on a first come first served basis due to restricted numbers in the venue - will be available. 

Each stamp allows access to all Q&As.

“We are hopefully now making this one of the largest emergency services day in the North of England,” said Ben.
