LANES were closed and there were huge delays on a motorway after a crash, while fire engines were seen rushing to another issue.
The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 28 (Tingley) and junction 29 (Lofthouse).
Two lanes - three and four (of four) - were shut while the situation was dealt with.
This was causing congestion to build in the area, with queues stretching back to junction 26 (Chain Bair/M606) on the eastbound carriageway at one point.
Traffic was also slow in the opposite direction.
All lanes were reopened at around 6pm.
The Telegraph & Argus has contacted West Yorkshire Police for details.
One lane was closed on the same carriageway of the M62, but from junction 26 to junction 27 (Gildersome), due to a broken down vehicle.
The T&A spotted two fire engines travelling down Rooley Lane towards the M606 at around 5.30pm.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue (WYFRS) said it had been made aware of a broken down vehicle on the M62 and that police and highways officers told the service that the vehicle was possibly smoking or steaming.
This closure was causing queues to stretch back three miles but the lane was reopened at around 6pm too.
Meanwhile, a lane on the junction 6 entry slip-road to the westbound carriageway of the M621 was also closed.
This was due to a broken down vehicle.
Traffic was said to be coping well and the lane reopened at 5.42pm.
