A FOOD service has said having diversity across the business has played a crucial role in its recent success.

Adams Food Service grabbed the Social Mobility Award, sponsored by 24 Hour Healthcare, at the Bradford Means Business ceremony.

It meant New Business of the Year winner Sowing Seeds Tuition and GiveBradford narrowly missed out on this one.

Adams Food Service is a family-orientated company deeply committed to providing opportunities for the people of Bradford and proudly employs more than 250 individuals from diverse backgrounds.

The team speaks more than 20 languages, encourages female workers to address the industry’s underrepresentation, and supports the Armed Forces Covenant, ensuring employment opportunities for ex-service personnel.

Muhammad Kola, Commercial and finance director at Adams Food Service, was blown away when the business was read out as the victors.

“It is amazing. It is really unexpected,” he told the Telegraph & Argus on Friday night.

“We believe in social mobility and having a diverse workforce. We believe that we represent Bradford business.

“It is a great award for our employees.

“From a diversity perspective, we encourage women at work and have people from all walks of life.

“We can speak to you in a variety of languages.

“It is important for us to maintain a diverse workforce because we believe that brings the best out of any business.

“Bradford winning city of culture 2025, just shows that culture makes Bradford what it is.

“We are all part of one big society.”

A spokesperson for the business added: “At Adams Food Service, it is fundamental to us that our workforce mirrors the diversity of Bradford.

“We actively seek out talent from all walks of life, regardless of background, ethnicity, or gender.”
