When the temperature gets a little too much in summer, you might be thinking of paying a visit to Ilkley Lido and Pool to cool off.
Surrounded by scenic views of the Yorkshire Dales, it was recently named among the most “refreshing” UK lidos to make the most throughout the warmer months of the year, according to The Times.

Prices for entry to Ilkley Lido, according to the Bradford Council website are as follows:
Peak admission (from May 2024)- Monday to Friday 9.30am to 6pm, weekends and bank holidays 10am to 4.30pm

- Adult with Bradford Leisure Card - £5.50
- Junior (3+) - £5.65

Is Ilkley Lido heated?
Unfortunately, Ilkley Lido isn’t heated and is open for the summer season only (May - September).
Bradford Council explains: “The water temperature varies on a day to day basis, we have an outside water temperature display on view to customers. If the lido drops below 10 °C the pool will close.”
How big is Ilkley Lido? See how deep it is
The lido is 45.7 meters (50 yards) across the widest section and 22.8 meters (25 yards) across at the diving area of the lido, according to Bradford Council.
- the shallow end is 0.3m and slopes down to around 0.7m at the red posts / lane ropes
- beyond the red posts there is a sudden slope which drops down to 2m. Weak swimmers, people using arm bands, and non-swimmers are not permitted beyond this point
- the diving area is 1.95m deep

Does Ilkley Lido have a slide?
According to a recent review on Tripadvisor by one visitor, the lido has a slide for children that "deposits them into a safe, shallow area".
It is also divided into sections including an area for those who want to swim lengths and for those after a more casual dip/where children can play.
Other facilities include:

- car park - entrance barrier has maximum height of 2m (6ft 6in)
