ROAD users are being urged to plan ahead this week as significant disruptive work begins on key routes.

The works, around the Armley Gyratory, Stanningley Bypass (A647), and the Outer Ring Road A6120 Horsforth to Rodley route, are set to affect those travelling to Bradford from Leeds.

The work has been planned to coincide with the reduced levels of traffic over the school summer holidays, with the aim of minimising disruption for all road users.

On July 22, the final phase of the Armley Gyratory Wellington Road commenced. This has resulted in permanent inbound and outbound lane closures on Wellington Road (A58) until the scheme is completed.

All lanes will be closed for the footbridge demolition work starting Saturday, July 27 (8pm) to Monday, July 29 (6am).

On the Stanningley Bypass A647 Outer Ring Road between Farnley and Bramley, a contraflow will be in place to safely allow for repairs to joints.

Surfacing work started eastbound at 6am on July 21.

A contraflow will then be in place westbound from Thursday, August 8 until August 30, with an ongoing 30mph speed limit.

Highway widening to the A6120 west of Horsforth roundabout - along with new cycleway and footway construction - starts Wednesday, July 24

The scheme will be completed in the summer of 2025.

Full lane closures will be in place for the initial 11 weeks, then partially removed as work progresses.
