A MOTORBIKE rider is in a "critical condition" after a crash with a barrier.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said yesterday it received an emergency call at 11am on Sunday to a report of a man who had fallen off a motorbike on the North Bridge Flyover, in Halifax.
Multiple resources were sent to the scene and West Yorkshire Police revealed this evening it was also called there, at 11.09am.
The crash involved a 48-year-old man on a Ducati motorcycle.
He was rushed to Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "His condition is described as critical."
They added that the Ducati was travelling from Wade Street onto the roundabout with North Bridge, in the direction of the flyover bridge and New Bank when it was in collision with a barrier.
The northbound carriageway of the A58 was blocked while the situation was dealt with and this caused traffic to build in the area.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Anyone who saw the crash, or the motorbike prior to it, and anyone who has dash came footage of the collision, should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, or using the contact options on the West Yorkshire Police website.
You should quote log number: 636 of July 21.
