A BAND which has been praised by The Darkness star Justin Hawkins is set to release its debut single.

Halifax-based The Incident is fronted by Tom Davies, lead singer, pianist and songwriter, and his sister Emma Maggie Davies, lead vocalist and guitarist.

They said Hawkins follows The Incident on Instagram and has "raved" about the siblings' performances.

Tom, 19, taught himself to play piano during lockdown and began writing songs.

Emma, 14, is no stranger to performing as she is an actor known for playing Jess Beaker in the beloved children's TV show My Mum Tracy Beaker.

The Incident's debut single, called All The Kiddies Doin Drugs, will be released tomorrow and available to download on all streaming platforms.

The track was recorded at the Chairworks studio, Castleford, and mastered at Abbey Road Studios, London.

It is described as a "heavy piano pop rock record with an underlying social commentary that will get people thinking and your hips shaking".

The Incident will perform All The Kiddies Doin Drugs at The Grayston Unity in Halifax tomorrow.
