The nominations have been whittled down to 10 and we are now aiming to publish a profile on each of the finalists in the coming days.

Chapel House in Low Moor, a Greene King pub, is one of the establishments hoping to win the contest.

Amy Walsh, landlady of the pub, said she was delighted the popular venue had made it into the final.

She told the T&A: "I've been the landlady of Chapel House for nearly nine years.

"I thoroughly enjoy my job and love catching up with my regulars and meeting new customers alike.

"We currently have approximately 30 people employed here.

"I have an amazing team and Chapel House wouldn't be what it is without all my wonderful team and guests."

Amy said she and her staff "love being part of the local community".

"We try to incorporate as many events as possible throughout the year alongside our daily duties serving good food and drink," she added.

"These events include a weekly quiz, live music and our annual ChapelFest beer and music festival.

"We also hold charity events - in 2022 we raised £10,500, in 2023 we raised £11,400 and so far in 2024 we have raised more than £12,500, all for Macmillan Cancer Support.

"Recently we launched a monthly event for the over-60s, including lunch, music, raffle and bingo.

"We also support the Homeless Hampers charity throughout the year as a drop-off point for food and warm clothing donations."

Amy outlined the reasons why she thought Chapel House had made it into the final 10.

"We offer good food and drink in a friendly atmosphere in traditional surroundings and provide weekly entertainment alongside special events for the local community," she said.

"We have outdoor space to seat 250 people - when the sun makes an appearance!

"The pub is dog-friendly with water, treats and a special Pup and Grill menu, and we also hold a Christmas Market.

"We get great reviews."
