A YOUTH and a man have been charged after an incident where two dirt bikes were ridden through Bradford city centre three months ago.

An investigation was launched after the incident at The Mirror Pool, in City Park on April 30.

A 17-year-old male, who cannot be named for legal reasons relating to his age, and Abdul Khan, 21, of Sandford Road, Barkerend have been charged with four offences each.

The charges follow a probe led by the Bradford District Steerside Enforcement Team - the force's dedicated initiative for tackling anti-social and dangerous driving.

"Two males have been charged after an incident involving two unregistered off-road motorcycles in City Park, Bradford on April 30. 

"The 17-year-old male who we can’t name for legal reasons and Abdul Khan, 21, of Sandford Road have both been charged with:

•           Drive a motor vehicle dangerously
•           Use a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance
•           Drive a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence
•           Ride a motorcycle on a road and fail to wear protective headgear


"The charges come after an investigation led by Bradford District Steerside Enforcement Team with support from City & East Neighbourhood Policing Teams.

"Both males have been bailed to appear at Bradford Magistrates Court at 9.30am on July 29."
