WE can today reveal the winner of our Best Hairdresser or Barber 2024 competition.

Kojo's Cuts, a barber's shop based on Morley Street, Bradford, has clinched the top title.

As part of the hugely popular contest, readers were invited to share their favourite hairdresser or barber - and a phenomenal 22,444 nominations came in.

The list was whittled down to a final 10 brilliant businesses - with people invited to pick up a copy of the Telegraph & Argus newspaper and vote for their favourite by sending back a coupon.

Now it can be announced that Kojo's Cuts - which opened in 2020 - earned the most votes from readers.

Kozhin Jabar, owner and senior barber, said he was "absolutely delighted" his shop won the competition.

"It's fantastic news," he said.

"I really am thrilled.

"I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us and helped us to win, and I'd also like to say a huge thank you to all our amazing customers for their ongoing support."

Kozhin outlined a number of reasons why he thought Kojo's Cuts won the contest.

"We show care and love for all our customers," he said.

"They come from all different backgrounds and are of all ages.

"We offer everything you need in one place - from haircuts to shaves, facials to massages, and plenty more.

"We offer free haircuts to the homeless and people in need.

"Our shop is beyond clean and always sanitised.

"We are child-friendly and have multiple toys for kids to play with.

"We also offer hot and cold drinks, sweets, chocolate and biscuits - all for free."

When the T&A profiled Kojo's Cuts last month, Kozhin told how his passion for barbering started at a young age and he opened his shop after finishing college.

He said there is a "real homely feeling" working at Kojo's Cuts.

"There is a great support network within the team," he added.

"Working here is truly an interesting job - watching the hustle and bustle of the city centre, overhearing snippets of conversations ranging from descriptions of chosen haircuts to local gossip, to then offering a listening ear to those who need to mentally offload."

He added: "There is always banter and positivity bouncing around the shop.

"Every customer who enters the shop leaves with a smile - that is something we make sure of."

From everyone at the T&A, a big well done to Kojo's Cuts.
